#9 FINDING FEEDS

I went through the search tools suggested in the exercise and found Feedster and Google Blog search to be the most accessible. My experience was that the information I was searching for was not as easy to locate as I had anticipated. I found this particularly when I used the Topix.net search as well as the Technorati search. It could be that the format was unfamiliar to me but again with time and practice it should hopefully become easier! Another point could be that other people are not tagging their blogs.

# 8 RSS

Using RSS is a great way of accessing up to date information. The terminology is new so it takes time to remember what everything is. It's an amazing source of information however changing screens to create all these new options can be quite stressful! This technology could definitely be used in the library as a positive resource.

# 7 Blog about technology

The technology related to blogs has been quite confusing. Having to create a yahoo account to use flickr as well as initially creating a gmail account has taken more time than I expected. The process of logging in to my blog has been time consuming. Familiarising myself with the page set up, terminology and remembering all the different log ins has made this a slow process. Keeping a diary of my experiences is also something which I have not taken to so easily. I generally use emails as little as possible and rather like using the phone, so the blogging experience seems very foreign to me.
Having said all of this, it is definitely a positive step for me and I am happy to be learning something new which will help me in the future!
